2017 Scholarship Recipients

Marilyn Huestis – Melvin Wojcik Scholarship

Lance McCutcheon of Bozeman and Jessica Raty of Billings were the winners of MPEA’s academic scholarships for 2017.  The scholarships provide $1,500 to each recipient, one of whom will be a freshman and the other a returning student.

NEW STUDENT

McCutcheon will be graduating from Bozeman High School and is the son of Katie Brooks who is a member of MPEA’s Department of Justice, Highway Patrol Administrative Assistant unit.

Lance was a two-way All State football player at both Receiver and Cornerback, and holds several receiving records at Bozeman High School.  He has also set the single season interception record for the school this season.  Lance has earned seven athletic letters at Bozeman High School.

CONTINUING STUDENT

Raty is a continuing student at the University of Montana and the daughter of John Raty who is a member of MPEA’s DEQ chapter.

Jessica is double majoring in Resource Conservation and Political Science while focusing on International Relations and International Development.  She plans on joining the Peace Corps and continue her passion for making the world a better place while continuing her education and attending graduate school and earning her master’s degree in International Development and Affairs.  Her long term goal is to work for a non-profit, such as the Red Cross, and help other countries develop and thrive in the modern world.
